you'll understand if you're English

In 1882 the media said, when the Aussies first won a test on British soil, that "English cricket had died" and that "the body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia"

And so the next tour to Oz was "the quest to regain The Ashes" and when a small urn was jokingly presented the Ashes, the great sports oldest and hardest fought competition, was born,.

After having held the Ashes for far to little time the Noble Quest must now start all over again, but English cricket isn't dead this time. Much as I'm a bad loser (I like to think it comes from lack of practice) I have to say that Australia were brilliant and deserved to win this series 5-0.

They would have almost definitely killed any team in the world so the Mighty Mighty England must stand tall and fight on, next time round they'll be back on our turf and hopefully it'll be back to the glory days of 2005 and we can forget about the notion of a Green and Gold wash for at least another 86 years.

Congratulations Australia, you were great but don't get too comfortable.
